When a Local Group is created, it will be owned and managed by the Admin who creates the local group in their account (unless the Super Admin has assigned ownership to a specific Local Group Admin when creating the group).
Local Groups can be owned by either the Super Admin or by a Local Group Administrator. The Super Admin will be able to manage all local groups, regardless if they own the local group or not. Local Group Administrators can only manage the local groups they own within their own accounts, however, they will have the ability to impersonate other Local Group Administrators who own other local groups (you can find more information on this here: Viewing another Local Group Administrator's account).
We recommend having ownership of a local group set to a Local Group Administrator rather than the Super Admin. Local Group Administrators have the ability to impersonate each other, provided they own a local group.
In contrast, the Super Admin cannot be impersonated regardless of the local groups they own. So if the Super Admin owns a local group, only the Super Admin can manage this group and the buyers in the group.
You cannot transfer ownership of the Administrators Group. This group can only be managed by the Super Administrator.
You can find information on how to apply the Local Group Administrator role to an admin here: Adding & Removing Administrator Roles.
Transferring Ownership
Only the Super Admin can set who owns each local group.
- Select Local Groups and Users under the Admin Tools menu (either in the top menubar or on the homepage on the left-side menu).
- For a quick view of who manages each Local Group, hover over the name of the local group.
- Click on the blue arrow icon to the right of the relevant local group, and then click on the Edit local group option.
- On the right-hand side, there will be a box labelled Transfer Ownership with a yellow background.
- Select the dropdown box and then select the admin to transfer ownership to.
- Click on the Transfer button.
- Click on the OK button in the warning message to confirm.
