Creating a Practice Request is a great way to become familiar with requesting Quotes and Tenders from Suppliers. A Practice Request will not be sent to any Suppliers and is only used for you to test the Request Wizard functionality.
To create a Practice Request, hover over My requests in the menubar and select Create a practice request.
You can walk through each step in the Request Wizard as if you were creating a real RFx. You will know it is a Practice Request by the (This is a practice request!) notification highlighted below. If this does not appear, then you are creating a real RFx.
Walk through each step by clicking Save and Continue or Update and Continue at the bottom to move to the next step. As this is a Practice Request, you can play around with the settings and configure them however you want. You can find details steps on how to create a request here: Creating a Request or Tender.
Once at the final Save & Post step, you will be asked to either Save as draft or Post it!
Because this is a practice Request, clicking on Post it! will instantly create example Supplier responses and close the RFx for you. This means that you can begin practising the evaluation process straight away.
Please note: A real RFx will allow you to edit it once open - this is not possible with a practice RFx because it will automatically close.
If you have saved the Request as a draft, you can edit or complete it by clicking either the blue 'Finish?' link below the RFx name.
Alternatively, you can also click on the three vertical dots to the right, and select the 'Complete this request' option within the pop-up box.
Once you have posted the Request, you can begin evaluating the Supplier responses. To view the example submissions, click the green people icon to the right of the Request.
Before responses are opened, you will need to unlock them. Once responses are unlocked, you will not be able to edit or reopen the Request. To unlock the responses, click the Access Responses button.
You can now view the responses by clicking the magnifying glass button or download them by clicking the download button:
