Filter Tags are tags that are applied to Supplier profiles on a Supplier List. They are used as search and identification tags to help find the Suppliers relevant to your request.

Filter Tags are created and attached to suppliers by the Super Admin or a Panel Administrator. The Tags are created on a whole-organisation level and are applied to Suppliers on the list level, so different Tags can be used for different lists.

Because the Tags are created by your organisation, they can be set up to fit your own Supplier identification or categorisation methods.

The use of Filter Tags is enabled (or disabled) in your organisation’s settings by VendorPanel. If Filter Tags are not already enabled and you require this functionality, please contact your VendorPanel Account Manager or the VendorPanel Support Team.

Creating Filter Tags

Before Filter Tags can be attached to Suppliers, they need to be created by a Panel Admin. These tags can then be used for any of your enterprise Supplier lists.

  1. To create, view or edit your organisation’s filter tags, select Manage Filter Tags under the Admin Tools menu (either in the top menubar or on the homepage on the left-side menu).

  2. Here, you can create new Filter Tags. The tags must be organised into groups, which you create at the same time as making the tags.

  3. Use the fields on the left to create a new Filter Tag. Add the group name you want to use, followed by the ' | ' symbol and then the tag name into the Filter Tag box on the left. For example, you can enter 'Business Size|Small' as the Group Name/Tag Name for your Filter Tag.
    1. The ' | ' pipe key is often combined with the ' \ ' backslash button, found above the Enter or Return key on your keyboard.

  4. Add a description if required, and click the Save button to create the tag. By adding the same group name to multiple tags, they will automatically appear in the same group on the right where your created Filter Tags will be listed.

  5. To view, edit, or delete a current Filter Tag, click the relevant button to the right of the tag. When a tag is linked to a Supplier list, it cannot be deleted. The tag will need to be unlinked from the list before being deleted at the global level.

Assigning Tags to your Supplier Lists

Once they have been created, Filter Tags need to be assigned to the relevant Supplier List(s) before they can be attached to Suppliers.

  1. Select Enterprise Supplier Lists under the Admin Tools menu (either in the top menubar or on the homepage on the left-side menu).

  2. Click on the blue arrow to the right of the relevant supplier, and then click on the Assign tags to this list option.

  3. Select the Filter Tags you want to apply to the Supplier List. Ensure you've selected to Enable filter tags for the list. Click the Save and Continue button once selected.

Add Tags to Suppliers

There are multiple ways you can assign Filter Tags to Suppliers. If Suppliers are yet to register on your list, (and you will be manually approving them when they do), you can add the Filter Tags to Suppliers at the approval step.

The final step is to add the Filter Tags to each Supplier's profile. If this is a new Supplier List, you can do this on a Supplier by Supplier basis as they register. For an existing Supplier list, you can do it by assigning tags to a Supplier’s profile or assigning Suppliers to a specific tag.

Adding via Supplier

  1. Select Enterprise Supplier Lists under the Admin Tools menu (either in the top menubar or on the homepage on the left-side menu).

  2. Click on the number in the Suppliers column against the list the supplier is registered on, and you will see the suppliers on that list.

  3. Find the supplier in the list, click on the blue arrow on the right next to the relevant Supplier and select Filter Tags.
