Category tags are functionality that allows the Super Admin or a Panel Administrator to provide keyword search functionality on the existing category structure.
This functionality allows Panel Administrators to assign Category Tags against sub-categories. When Buyers search for these Category tags in the RFx Wizard, the relevant subcategory will be presented to them for selection.
Category tags can only be applied against sub-categories, not Categories themselves.
Assigning Category Tags
The information below will provide an overview of how Administrators can implement Category tags for their enterprise:
- Select Enterprise Supplier Lists under the Admin Tools menu (either in the top menubar or on the homepage on the left-side menu)
- Click the Manage Categories link on the left.
- Click the plus icon to the left of a category to expand the list of available subcategories. Click on the edit link to the right of the sub-category to add a Category tag to the respective subcategory.
- Under Add Category Tags, enter a name for your category tab. Click the blue Add button.
- You can add multiple Category tags to a sub-category and these Category tags will be listed here. If you would like to remove a Category tag, click on the black cross icon to the right of a Category tag.
Please noteCategory tags can be up to 64 characters in length. All symbols are accepted excluding underscores (_), ALT characters, and emojis.
- You can decide whether you would like the category tags to be active or inactive by clicking on the respective radio buttons.
- Click on the Save or Save & Add new button to finalise your changes.
Buyer Experience
Once Category Tags have been created and assigned to subcategories, Buyers will be able to search for any set Category Tags in the RFx wizard when they are selecting Categories before selecting Suppliers. They will be presented with the subcategory associated with the Category tag. Buyers in the Browse Suppliers by Category search will also be able to search for any set Category Tags and be presented with matching sub-categories/category combinations.
Buyers will be able to mouse over the category to display a pop-up bubble showing all Category tags assigned to that particular sub-category.
Supplier Experience
Suppliers are given visibility over the Category tags that are associated with the sub-categories available to them. They can do this by mousing over the sub-categories as they appear on the Category selection page. This will assist them in picking the most appropriate Category/Sub Category combination.
