As you work with contract drafts, saving different versions is important for tracking changes and maintaining a record of each contract iteration. Here’s how you can save future versions of your draft and maintain an organized contract versioning process in VendorPanel.
Save the initial version:
- Once the draft is generated, save it with a clear label, such as "Contract_Draft_V1", indicating it’s the first version.
- Upload this version to the system by clicking 'More options' ellipsis and opening the 'Attachments' section
Edit, save and upload new versions:
- When changes are made to the draft, save each revised version with a new label. For instance, if you make modifications to the first draft, save the updated file as "Contract_Draft_V2".
- Continue to follow this naming pattern (e.g., "V3," "V4") to maintain a clear record of each version.
- After saving each new version, upload it back to the 'Attachments' section on the contract record.
Documenting Changes:
- As you create each new version, note the main changes in the 'File Notes' section of the contract record.
Following this versioning process ensures that each change is documented and that you can easily access previous drafts if needed.
