When creating or managing a Local Group, various settings determine permissions and access to specific features on VendorPanel's Go To Market module.
When the Super Admin or a Local Group Administrator creates a new Local Group, users in the group will only have access to view and use internal supplier lists by default. An administrator can adjust the settings of the Local Group to allow permission for users in the group to view and use external lists and the VendorPanel Marketplace lists.
External lists are those that are managed by other organisations that have granted your organisation access to utilise their lists for your requests.
The Marketplace is a set of open lists, managed by VendorPanel, that suppliers can self-register on. These lists can be used for Requests (inviting specific suppliers) and/or Public Tenders.
Enabling External and Marketplace List access for a Local Group
The below steps outline how to enable access to External lists and Marketplace Requests and Tenders on an existing Local Group.
These settings can also be enabled when creating a new Local Group (follow from step 3 onwards).
- Select Local Groups and Users under the Admin Tools menu (either in the top menubar or on the homepage on the left-side menu).
- Click on the blue arrow icon to the right of the relevant local group, and then click on the Edit local group option.
- In the settings for a specific Local Group, scroll down to the bottom of the section labelled Local Group Panel Settings.
- Against the ‘Is panel sharing enabled for this local group?’ setting, select Yes. Once you do, another setting will appear below.
- Against the ‘Can this local group access shared panels from others?' setting, select Yes. Once you do, more settings will appear below again.
- See the table below for a description of each setting:
Setting Description All buyers can create Requests to external organisation supplier lists (non-marketplace Requests). Do you wish to restrict this to nominated buyers only? You can either allow all users in this group access to use External lists, or you can nominate specific users to have access. This is set against each individual user in the group.
Can buyers in this local group create MarketPlace Requests? If enabled, users in the group will be able to use the Marketplace lists to select and invite specific suppliers to a request. If buyers can create MarketPlace Requests (above), do you wish to restrict this to nominated buyers only? Similar to the above, you can restrict access to be able to send Marketplace to specific users in the group. Set a default map zoom level for MarketPlace Requests or when accessing Marketplace supplier lists. When Buyers are using the Marketplace lists for a request and selecting suppliers, the list of Suppliers will be filtered to this default location radius. They will be able to change the radius themselves, this is just the default view. Can buyers in this local group create Public Tenders? If enabled, users in this group will be able to use the Marketplace lists to send out Public Tenders If buyers can create Public Tenders (above), do you wish to restrict this to nominated buyers only? Similar to the above, you can restrict access to be able to send Public Tenders using the Marketplace lists. Show simple or advanced statistics for Tender Requests? This is specific to statistics for Public Tenders only. See the question mark for a description of the difference. Recommended to use the Advanced Stats option.
- When finished, click on Save at the bottom.
